Want to hear something freaky?  I had this all set up to post this morning all by itself but when I turned on my computer on Wednesday, there it was! I nearly had a heart attack! Everything is supposed to be revealed on the S:CY blog first. Oh dear! I had to take it all down and re-put it up this morning. So, if there's any confusion or weirdness.. let's blame it on the blogger gremlins, shall we?

This time our layout was created by Ali MacDonald, site owner. I love the way she hand draws her sketches - gives me hope that maybe I can draw my own someday instead of "winging it" all the time! LOL

And here's my interpretation

It's quite rare that I have ever had baby Hugo fall asleep on me. It seems that he's always on his way somewhere or cuddling with his mamma.... He truly is his mom's boy, but I have to say that I truly treasured  having these few quiet moments with him.

Last week

I finished off the Sisterhood of Scrap challenges for February. This last challenge was the hardest. Jackie reminded us of the dangers of high blood pressure. She asked  us to use ribbon in five different ways on our layouts to represent our arteries and veins that transport blood through out bodies. Here's what I came up with:

I chose to use ribbon in the border under the photo, a tulle flower, ribbon "leaves", a ribbon pull on the journal card, and a white ribbon border to add texture and dimension to the side of the photo.

This my adorable grand-daughter at her Christening in May 2010.

Couldn't resist

I was just browsing around on the internet this afternoon and came across a poem written by a lady named Cathy Cardell. I knew right away what photo I wanted to scrap. This is my grandson when he was only an hour or two old. The poem really touched my heart. I hope it blesses you today.

The journalling reads:

Wean Me Gently
by Cathy Cardall

I know I look so big to you,

Maybe I seem too big for the needs I have.
But no matter how big we get,
We still have needs that are important to us.
I know that our relationship is growing and changing,
But I still need you.
I need your warmth and closeness,
Especially at the end of the day
When we snuggle up in bed.
Please don't get too busy for us to nurse.
I know you think I can be patient,
Or find something to take the place of a nursing;
A book, a glass of something,
But nothing can take your place when I need you.
Sometimes just cuddling with you,
Having you near me is enough.
I guess I am growing and becoming independent,
But please be there.
This bond we have is so strong and so important to me,
Please don't break it abruptly.
Wean me gently, because I am your mother,
and my heart is tender.
